Thousands of fans show out for Jaguars vs. Chiefs game

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Tens of thousands of fans attended the preseason opener game between the Jacksonville Jaguars and Kansas City Chiefs at the Everbank Stadium.

Action News Jax Shanila Kabir met fans from all over the country for both the Jaguars and Chiefs.

She met a family whose daughter said attending this game was her 12th birthday wish; Patrick Mahomes made her a Chiefs fan.

Birthday girl Blakely Bradshaw said she hopes she sees a lot of touchdown passes and Travis Kelce catch all of them.

Another fan, Jorge Victoria, told Kabir he’s been a diehard Jaguars fan since he was a little boy, and he flew all the way from Arizona.

“I’m super excited to be here at the first home game. I’ve been seeing this on TV for years and now it’s finally reality,” Victoria said.

Rachelle Jones said she brought her family from Atlanta to watch the first preseason game.

“We’re going to try to go to Kansas City for one game. It’s a hike for me but my kids are committed and now I am too,” Jones said.

Many fans hoped to see Taylor Swift at the Everbank, however she did not attend.
