All-clear given at Jewish Community Alliance in Jacksonville after reported bomb threat

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A bomb threat was reported Monday at the Jewish Community Alliance in Jacksonville.

The Jewish Community Alliance in Jacksonville is located on San Jose Boulevard near San Clerc Road.

The center evacuated out of caution, according to the JCA's twitter. Everyone is reported safe.

The Jewish Community Alliance in Jacksonville sent a statement to parents and staff:

"Our on-duty officer and Officer Nancy came by my office to report that a bomb threat was called into the JCA. The police have evacuated the JCA building and have conducted a thorough search using bomb dogs. They did not find anything.

"We immediately brought all of the office staff from all departments to get a refresher course from our on-duty officer about handling bomb threat phone calls. We are also maintaining extra vigilance regarding packages, food deliveries, letting people into the building, etc. At this point the police don't think we need to evacuate, but if they do we will let you know.

"We will update you if and when we have any new information.

Police said the Jewish Community Alliance in Jacksonville received a threat by phone.

Officials searched the building and no devices were found.
