Troopers have identified the 1-year-old who was killed in a crash on U.S. 17 in Jacksonville on Thursday.

Dean Wyers, 1, was killed and several children were hurt after the crash near Clark Road.

Kristi Tucker, 31, was in a 2007 PT Cruiser with her two children, ages 1 and 4, when she pulled into the path of a black Ford Explorer, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The front of the Explorer hit the PT Cruiser and then the SUV hit a pole and landed in a ditch.

According to family, Tucker is in a medically-induced coma at UF Health. Their 4-year old daughter suffered minor injuries.

Right now, Dean's family is remembering the young boy who they say was so full of life and personality.

“(He was a) really good kid, always smiling and always getting dirty,” said Michael Sherman, Dean's uncle.

His family plans to place a roadside memorial at the site of the crash. Family members are also hoping to raise money to give Dean a proper burial.

A GoFundMe page has been set up for the family. You can learn more about that by clicking here.

The driver of the Ford Explorer, 32-year-old Diana Nicole Hall, suffered serious injuries in the crash. Her children, ages 3 and 5, were in the car. They suffered minor injuries in the crash.

Troopers are waiting for toxicology reports to determine if alcohol was a factor.
