Action News Jax first told you Friday that authorities believe that road rage was a factor in the crash.

At the scene of the crash on Monday, oil could still be seen on the road where Robinson’s truck came to its final rest. A few feet away, pieces of glass and car fragments still remained, showing just how strong the impact of the crash was.

Altogether, six cars were involved in the crash, FHP said. At least two of the cars were caught on cellphone video, that shows a white Honda Civic and a Chevrolet Suburban continue to collide into each other, like bumper cars.

At one point, Robinson, the driver of the Suburban, veered off the road into oncoming traffic. FHP said he collided with two more cars.

The drivers and passengers in the other cars survived.

“I don't understand the road rage ... I mean, it's really something simple. You can pull over. Or If it's just a little tiny bump, and you're not worried about it -- you can just continue on with your day,” said Madeline Palmer, who heard the crash while she was walking her dog.

Right now, FHP is working to learn if alcohol was involved and it said charges are pending, but we do know Robinson was not wearing a seat belt.

Action News Jax has put in a request with FHP to find out how many crashes have happened along this stretch of Roosevelt Boulevard and we’re still waiting to hear back.

FHP is asking anyone who has additional information or video footage of the incident to contact FHP investigators at (904) 359-6572 or *FHP (*347).
