Two dead in Englewood crash; car plows into Firehouse Subs

Driver and passenger died on scene, no injuries in restaurant.

Jacksonville, Fl — A car plows into the Firehouse Subs on University Blvd. and Terry Road in Englewood, killing both the driver and passenger.

The car burst into flames after the crash around 1:20 am Wednesday. Jacksonville police say the driver of a BMW lost control while traveling at a high rate of speed, crashing into the building.

Police did not offer any information about the victims on scene. The Firehouse Subs sustained significant damage as a result of the crash and fire.

JSO says this marks the 110th and 111th traffic deaths of the year.

This Firehouse Subs is the same location as a 2018 crash that killed a mother of three when she rounded the corner on her motorcycle.
