Two kids were sent to the hospital after vaping in school, PCSO says

PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. — Last Friday two students in Interlachen Junior-Senior High School were sent to the hospital after two separate vaping incidents.

Around 11 a.m. the assistant principal was notified of an issue in the girls bathroom at the middle school campus.

When the principal got there she found a 13-year-old girl conscious but not alert on the bathroom floor.

According to Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, the student was taken to the pediatric hospital in Gainesville.

A student told administration that several other girls were vaping in the bathroom as well. When searching the other girls in the bathroom, three other vapes were found.

Police say that moments later, another girl who was also in the bathroom of the time of the incident stated that she was going to pass out. While rescue transported the student, she began to have seizures.

During a search of the bathroom ceiling, administrators found and removed another vape.

On Friday all of the vapes confiscated were fruit or candy flavored.
