1 kid dead, 1 teen critically injured after hit crossing A1A in St. Johns County crash

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla — Update 9:18 a.m. 9/22/2022: Family members report that the 2-year-old victim has passed away.

Update 8:02 a.m. 9/17/2022:

Action News Jax’s Princess Jhane is on the scene and has reported that the victim’s are a 16-year-old and a 2-year-old. The teen is suffering serious injuries while the 2-year-old remains in critical condition.

Reports from the Florida Highway Patrol state that Friday night around 10 p.m. two pedestrians were crossing State Road A1A towards their residence when a sedan was driving the same route.

The front end of the sedan collided with the pedestrians, causing seriously critical injuries. The driver of the sedan stopped immediately and called for help.

The pedestrians were transported to a local hospital where they remain critical. FHP states that this is an ongoing investigation and no identities of the drivers or the victims have been released at this time.
