Two shootings overnight leave one dead, multiple people injured

Shooting on I-295 and Roosevelt Blvd. involved people in two vehicles.

Jacksonville, Fl — One person is suffering from life-threatening injuries following an exchange of gunfire on Jacksonville’s westside. JSO says it happened shortly after 12:30 am on the West Beltway northbound near the Roosevelt Boulevard exit.

At least two occupants from two separate vehicles were shooting at each other when one was struck and taken to the hospital. A second vehicle fled the scene.

Violent crimes unit is still investigating and anyone with more information is urged to call JSO or Crime Stoppers at 866-845-TIPS.

A second shooting in the Regency area left one person dead and at least one person suffering from life-threatening injuries. Witnesses told police they heard 10 to 15 gunshots from the Brookwood Apartments near Monument Road just after 10 pm Tuesday.

JFRD says a man between the age of 18 and 20 was dead at the scene, while another man around the same age is suffering multiple life-threatening gunshot wounds.

Detectives were canvassing the area for suspects into the early morning. No suspect information was released by police.
