In addition to handing out food to those in need, White Harvest Farms will also be hosting the Senior Farmer’s Market Nutrition Program (Senior FMNP). Volunteers will be giving eligible seniors coupons valued at $40.

According to the latest from White Harvest Farms, these coupons will be accepted at Duval County farmer’s markets. The goal is to provide local communities with organic foods and produce in one of the 40 areas in Jacksonville categorized as a food desert.

The USDA website defines food deserts as areas where people have limited access to a variety of healthy and affordable food.

The food giveaway and Senior FMNP coupon distribution will be held at 4850 Moncrief Rd., Jacksonville, Fl. 32209.
