FBI Jacksonville tweeted that its agents arrested Honeycutt and thanked the Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Florida for assistance.
Action News Jax’s Dani Bozzini was in court during Honeycutt’s initial appearance. She learned that Honeycutt posted several videos and photos on Facebook, including selfies inside and in front of the Capitol.
One of the photos included Honeycutt holding broken furniture, which appeared to be a table leg that said “Senate Property.” In one of the selfie videos shot by Honeycutt, he said “it’s about to go down.”
Honeycutt, who is a father of three and a bail bondsman, admitted to smoking marijuana yesterday so he won’t be released from custody Thursday night.
Investigators seized guns from his Orange Park home and they said the guns were improperly stored. They also found marijuana out in the open in the house.
The guns seized included a hunting rifle, an AK-style rifle and two handguns.
