Vandals spray-paint dozen cars, homes in Orange Park

ORANGE PARK, Fla. — Clay County deputies are looking for leads into who spray painted homes, cars and street signs in Orange Park.

Officials said at least ten properties were tagged with red paint. One woman said her car was keyed too.

The damage totals $4,000 for homeowners.

No arrests have been made.

The vandalism spanned several streets and neighbors said victims include a veteran and an elderly woman battling cancer.

One neighbor’s wife recorded her husband scrubbing off the red spray paint on their family car after vandals tagged them and several others in their neighborhood.

“I feel disrespected,” Marvin Jones said. “Me and my wife work hard for our car.”

Another neighbor showed Action News Jax red smudges left behind after he wiped the paint off his car.

“Spray-painted my car, spray-painted my brother-in-law’s car,” said Orlandus Robinson.

Robinson just moved to Orange Park from Illinois.

“I’ve been at this home two months. I would like to catch ‘em that’s what I want to do,” Robinson said.

His satellite dish was also tagged.

Robinson said he launched his own investigation into who painted his cars late Thursday night. He said he had a bat with him to scare whoever did it when he went door-to-door looking for the culprits.

There are no suspects at this time in the investigation.
