“We’re tired, yes, we're frustrated, yes, but we're going to hang it out,” Green’s father, Wayne Anderson, said. “We've waited for justice for this long, and we'll continue to wait.”
Presley will have to wait until at least Saturday to find out if he’ll spend time in prison for firing those deadly shots.
“It’s frustrating, but at the same time, we’re getting justice,” Anderson said while leaving the courthouse Friday night.
Green was unarmed that night, but the defense claims Presley shot Green after a fight stemming from a traffic stop and foot chase. They said Presley feared for his life.
The state said Presley shot Green as he tried to run away after the scuffle.
“It’s just tiring right now knowing we’ll have to come back (Saturday),” Anderson said. “No news is good news as far as we’re concerned, but we’d rather wait it out and make sure that they get it right.”
The jury seems to be focusing on body camera video from the incident. During deliberations Friday, the jury returned to the courtroom to view the final two minutes of that video.
“There’s something that they’re lingering with and lingering over where I feel right now at this point right now the jury is putting time in, making sure whatever their decision is that they get it right,” Anderson said.
