FERNANDINA BEACH, Fla. — A woman spotted an unusual sight at a Florida beach on Sunday.

During her daily trip to clean up the beach, Amy Wade noticed an alligator taking a stroll along the shoreline.

“So awesome to watch this guy walking around on the beach. Then all of a sudden he just went back into the water and was gone,” Wade said.

The video was taken at the beach in front of Fort Clinch State Park in Fernandina Beach, she told Action News Jax.

While this is uncommon, animal experts say gators can tolerate salt water, but only for a few hours.
