Troopers say a Florida man was taken into custody after an aggravated assault on an officer led to a multi-state, high speed chase that ended in Baker County.
FHP Sgt. Dylan Bryan says around 12:40 p.m. FHP got a call for assistance as deputies from Georgia chased a suspect into Florida.
Bryan said the suspect, identified as Patrick O'Neal Quest, fled Lowndes County, Ga., where he was wanted for aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer.
Speeds reportedly surpassed 100 miles per hour as officers pursued him south on I-75, across some county roads, eastbound onto I-10.
The chase ended at the Walmart in Baker County.

Troopers say Quest tried to run into Walmart after stopping the car, but was taken into custody by officers. His car crashed into a semi truck in the parking lot, Bryan said.
Bryan says Quest was from Titusville, Florida and was driving a rental car with a suspended license.
He is now in custody, facing several charges including fleeing and eluding, reckless driving, possession of a controlled substance and possession of a loaded firearm.
Troopers reportedly found marijuana, prescription drugs, a loaded firearm and an open container of alcohol in the car.
More charges are expected in Georgia, troopers said.
