PALATKA, Fla. — UPDATE 4:30 p.m.: A precautionary boil water notice is in effect for residents of East Putnam Regional Water System.

The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office said that as a result of the loss of pressure from the water main break, residents are asked to boil their water once service is returned.

All water used for drinking or cooking should be boiled. Residents are being asked to bring that water to a rolling boil for one minute.

“This ‘precautionary boil water notice’ will remain in effect until the problem has been corrected and bacteriological survey shows that the water is safe to drink,” the PCSO said.

If residents have questions you are asked to contact 386-326-7289.
