CLAY COUNTY, Fla. — A domestic dispute over drug money ended with an Orange Park woman shooting her husband in the leg.
Lindsay Costanza, 34, was arrested on Monday for aggravated battery domestic with a deadly weapon after she confessed to shooting her husband, Joshua.
The crime scene spanned two counties, but the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office was the arresting agency since the shooting occurred in their jurisdiction.
Investigators said Lindsay shot Joshua, on Blanding Blvd. in Duval County. He then drove himself to a BP gas station in Clay for help.
JSO told us the fight started after the husband took his wife’s purse to buy drugs. According to the arrest report, Lindsay warned her husband she would shoot him if he didn’t give her belongings back.
She fired one shot into his right leg after he didn’t comply, per JSO. Joshua was taken to Orange Park Medical and is expected to recover.
Detectives spoke with him at the hospital where he said it was his fault because of his drug addiction. He also told police they have a history of domestic incidents due to his drug use.
The gun used in the shooting was recently purchased by Lindsay for their protection. She’s now being held on a more than $75,000 bond.
