Kim Anaheim said she was walking her chocolate Labrador, Rapunzel, Saturday morning near the lake behind her complex when they were attacked by two pit bulls.
“To see her get attacked like that it was horrible,” Anaheim said.
Anaheim showed Action News Jax bite marks on her face and arm. She said she also has bruises from trying to pull the pit bulls off Rapunzel.
“I keep just having flashbacks and seeing it and hearing Rapunzel,” said Anaheim. “It's hearing her just scream and cry, because she's such a good girl. Whenever they attacked her she didn't raise a paw. She didn't even bark. She laid down.”
Anaheim said the dogs nearly ripped her dog’s tail and ear off. Both Anaheim and Rapunzel will be OK.

But Anaheim said it was not the first time this has happened. Anaheim said her long-haired Chihuahua, Peanut, was killed by dogs belonging to the same owner about a year and a half ago.
Action News Jax confronted the owner.
When he was asked if he would call the dogs aggressive, the owner said: “Towards other animals, yes, they are.”
The man wouldn't give his name, but apologized for what the dogs did and said the dogs will be put down on Tuesday.
“It breaks my heart, because my little boy loves the dogs, but you know, it is what it is," the owner said.
Action News Jax requested the reports on both attacks from police and animal control.
