A woman has non life-threatening injuries after she was shot in the stomach area, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
Officers said they were called to the Kings Ridge Apartments located in the 2100 block of West 12th Street at 2:50 a.m. New Year's Day -- where the woman was found inside an apartment with a gunshot wound.
The woman is in her mid to late 20s, police said.
JSO said there is no suspect information at this time.
Detectives and crime scene investigators are investigating the shooting.
Police told Action News Jax reporter Brittney Donovan two witnesses were detained for questioning.
This is the first reported shooting of 2019 in Jacksonville.
