Jacksonville, FL — The Regency testing site could begin offering vaccines as soon as Wednesday depending on when the next vaccine shipment comes in for the county, according to Florida Emergency Management Division.

The Regency site will be by appointment only.

The City of Jacksonville could run out of vaccines allotted to them until more doses are given to it.

About 11,000 doses were given to the City on the 11th, the two city run test sites have gone through their 1,000 doses daily meaning less than 3,000 are left.

The Mandarin Senior Center and Lane Wiley Senior Center is still vaccinating people this week first come first serve based on birth month.

The Covid vaccine requires two doses, according to the Florida Department of Health more than 40,000 people in the State are overdue for their second dose.

The second dose is given about 3 weeks after the first. The Florida Department of Health vaccine daily report shows of the about 50,000 people who have been vaccinated in Duval county a little more than 7,000 received the second dose.

Of those 50,000 some are not yet due for their second shot. Medical experts warn without a second dose a person will not be fully protected from the virus.
