TIMELINE: The disappearance of Joleen Cummings
The owner of the hair salon where missing Nassau County mom Joleen Cummings worked will not reopen, the business said on Facebook.
Tangles Hair Salon has been closed since the May 12 disappearance of Cummings, who vanished after working the day before Mother's Day. She is presumed dead.

The salon has lost revenue since the disappearance and the company that holds the lease is refusing to work with them, the business said on social media.
The business had been open for 10 years.
"It would not be the same," the business said on Facebook. "[Its] too heartbreaking without Joleen at this point anyway."
Customers quickly took to Facebook to support Tangles.
"Tangles was an important part of the community," one customer wrote. "I wish all of this had turned out differently."
The hair salon also employed Kimberly Kessler, a suspect in Cummings' disappearance. Patrons of the salon said that there was tension between Kessler and Cummings.
“I kind of felt uncomfortable because I was just like, Joleen is getting slammed by all these clients, and you’re just sitting around doing nothing, not even helping her," one client said. "You’re hiding behind a wall playing on your phone."
The salon's statement:
"Tangles Hair Salon will not be reopening. Losing our friend and who we considered family was devastating.
We willingly closed the store for the investigators, in hopes that it would help locate Joleen. We know they have been working around the clock in an effort to solve this heinous crime and we have the utmost respect for NCSO. The side effect of this whole situation is a loss of income for the salon. We are just a small business and can not take financial setbacks of this magnitude.
The property management company notified me today that they will hold the salon to the terms of the lease. Working there without Joleen would be very difficult. So it is with great regret that we announce that we will not be reopening, we want to thank all of our loyal customers that have become our friends over the years, you all are the greatest.
We also want to thank all the people who expressed their support on our Tangles Facebook page. We do ask for continued prayers for Joleens family, that closure will come soon and for us as we try to move forward. We all love you Joleen!"
