PIERRE PART, La. — A Pierre Part, Louisiana, boy is quite a dog lover.
He loves dogs so much that when he passes his neighbor's dog, Duchess, on bike rides, he sneaks a hug from her.
The boy, named Josh, didn't know that his neighbor, Hollie Breaux Mallet, had surveillance video that caught his drive-by cuddles with Duchess.
Mallet posted a video of one of the hugs on Facebook in effort to find out who the boy was.
"Every now and then when he rides his bike he will quickly come and love on my dog or play fetch real quick, but always leaves quick like he doesn't know if he should be here," Mallet said. "I'd like to tell him he's welcome to stay and play, she loves the attention."
The boy's mother, Ginger Clement Breaux, shyly came forward on May 30.
Breaux said she was conflicted about her son's actions.
"Josh talks about your dog all the time," Breaux wrote in a comment on the video. "Every time we pass he looks to see if she was sitting where he could see her. (I) just didn't know he was doing things like this.
"Last night when I first saw (the video), I was torn as a momma, being happy and upset because he knows he shouldn't be on someone's property, but I wake up this morning more happy that he just absolutely adores dogs so much."
Breaux said her family had a dog named Bella since Josh was 2, but she died last year.
"Things have been busy and Josh is active with after-school activities, so we have not jumped back into taking on the responsibility of starting all over again with a new pup quite yet," Breaux wrote.
UPI reported that Mallet appreciated how loving Josh is toward animals and said he can visit the dog any time.
