Around 7 p.m., the Tulsa County Sheriff's Office went to a home in Bixby for a welfare check with the Bixby Fire Department, Bixby police and the Emergency Medical Services Authority.
Dispatchers said someone called 9-1-1 but did not respond after a dispatcher answered. Instead, the dispatcher heard gurgling sounds, which led the dispatcher to believe there was a medical emergency.
Officers got into the home, where they found 30-year-old Danielle Anderson "in a deep sleep" in the bedroom. Her 1-year-old daughter was in a play pen inside the bedroom.
Officers said they had a hard time waking Anderson and found pill bottles and glass smoking devices with residue and charring. The home did not appear to have food or working restrooms. Officers removed the child because of the drug paraphernalia and trash they found around the house.
Anderson woke up and was read her Miranda rights, after which she confessed to using meth and told police about the smoking devices and used syringes around her room.
Officers said she apologized and agreed to cooperate with an Oklahoma Department of Human Services investigation into the child's living conditions.
Officers found Anderson's phone during a search and realized the 1-year-old managed to call 9-1-1.
Investigators reported Anderson crying when she learned her daughter made the call, saying "This was a miracle from God and a wake-up call."
The child was given to a family member after being checked by medics.
Anderson was booked on complaints of child endangerment, possession of drugs near a minor and possession of drug paraphernalia.
