Ohio day care worker, fiance plead guilty to raping children

ELYRIA, Ohio — An Ohio day care worker and her fiance pleaded guilty to sexually abusing the same children she was hired to watch.

Heather Koon was accused of raping four children at a child care center where she was employed, The Chronicle-Telegram reported.

Koon worked in child care at the request of her fiance, James Osborne, a convicted sex offender.

Sheriff's deputies said that Osborne told Koon to rape four children when she worked at ABC Kidz Child Care in Elyria in March and April 2013. Authorities said she videotaped the molestations, WOIO reported.

She was also accused of taking photos of children at Country Day School in Amherst, Ohio. She started working at the Country Day School after she left her job at ABC Kidz, The Chronicle-Telegram reported.

Koon pleaded guilty to four counts each of rape, kidnapping and pandering obscenity involving a minor. She also pleaded guilty to three counts of illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material.

Osborne also pleaded guilty to four counts each of complicity to rape, complicity to kidnapping and pandering obscenity involved a minor.

Many of the guilty pleas carry prison sentences of 15 years to life, but that sentence could be increased to life without parole if the couple are deemed sexually violent predators.
