In a news release, the Norfolk District Attorney’s Office said that Cohasset and Massachusets State Police have taken Brian Walshe, 46, into custody Sunday for allegedly misleading a police investigation.

“During the course of that investigation, police developed probable cause to believe that her husband Brian Walshe had committed the crime of misleading police investigators,” said the Norfolk District Attorney’s Office.

The disappearance of Ana Walshe, 39, has been an ongoing investigation, according to WFXT. Ana Walshe is a real estate professional who commutes to a job in Washington. WFXT reported that state and local law enforcement officials traveled to Washington as part of the investigation over the weekend.

Ana Walshe was reportedly supposed to take a rideshare to Logan Airport on New Year’s Day to fly into Washington. She owns a townhouse there.

Police say, according to WFXT, that there is no evidence Ana Walshe got into a rideshare or got on any flights.

A search of the Walshes’ house concluded on Saturday. According to WFXT, troopers from the MSP Special Emergency Response Team, three K9 teams, and State Police Air Wing searched the area around the house. Investigators also reportedly drained the pool and searched a stream nearby.

Ana Walshe was reportedly last seen at her house in Cohasset just after midnight on New Year’s Day. Her phone has been off since Sunday and there has been no activity on her credit card or social media, according to WFXT.

WFXT reported that the Walshes’ former house caught on fire on Friday. The fire was determined to not be suspicious and had reportedly started due to damaged piping connected to a natural gas fireplace insert.

Brian Walshe is expected to be arraigned Monday. The Norfolk District Attorney’s Office said that additional facts may or may not be put into record during the court arraignment.

Ana Walshe is reportedly 5′2 and weighs 115 pounds. She has brown hair, brown eyes, and an olive complexion, according to WFXT. She speaks with an Eastern European accent.

Anyone with information or who believes they may have seen Ana Walshe is asked to contact the Cohasset Police Department, Detective Harrison Schmidt at 781-383-1055 extension 6108 or email him a hschmidt@cohassetpolice.com.
