JACKSON, Miss. — A man shot near a Mississippi funeral home drove to a nearby convenience store, where he died of his wounds, authorities said Saturday.
The shooting occurred outside the Westhaven Memorial Funeral Home in Jackson around 3 p.m., WJTV reported.
Witnesses told WAPT that a man was refused entry to a service for a person who was killed in July.
After a scuffle, the argument continued outside the funeral home, where the man was shot, WLBT reported. The man drove away from the scene, the television station reported.
Jackson City Councilman De’Keither Stamps told WJTV that the man was found dead at the Chuk Stop Food Mart, apparently from the gunshot wound.
Authorities have not released the name of the victim or the motive behind the shooting.
