A tiny Chihuahua has a big title thanks to Guinness World Records.
Pearl has been named the world’s shortest dog living.
The two-year-old pup from Orlando, Florida, is only 3.5 inches tall, or shorter than a popsicle stick, according to the official measurements taken from her front left foot to the top of the withers, or the ridge between the shoulder blades.
She’s also not that long, measuring about 5 inches, or the same length as a dollar bill.
Petite Pearl, who weighs in at 1.22 pounds, has a legacy to uphold as she is a relative of the previous record holder — Miracle Milly, who was only 3.8 inches tall.
Pearl is the daughter of Milly’s sister and was born at Crystal Creek Animal Hospital in Orlando, according to Guinness officials.
“We’re blessed to have her,” Pearl’s owner, Vanesa Semler, said in the world record news release. “And to have this unique opportunity to break our own record and share with the world this amazing news.”
Pearl made her debut as the record holder in Milan, Italy, during a portion of the television talent show Lo Show Dei Record, where she was carried onstage by Semler in an Easter egg-shaped carrier.
While Pearl now holds the title of the shortest dog living, she isn’t the shortest dog ever. That honor went to a dwarf Yorkshire terrier who measured 2.8 inches tall and 3.75 inches long, according to Guinness World Records files.
