EUFALA, Ala. — A police department was sent on an unusual call to help a resident with an unwanted visitor in their bathroom.
The Eufaula Police Department shared photos on its Facebook page that show a snake inside a toilet bowl. In the post, police explained that officers on the day shift were called to help when the animal was found.
“We never know from one day to the next what kind of call we will receive during our shift. Today was no exception, however a snake in the toilet wasn’t on our list of possibilities,” police said in the post.
The snake was identified as a gray rat snake, which is harmless, WRBL reported.
While police didn’t say how the snake managed to get into the toilet, they joked in their post: “In the snake’s defense, he was just trying to reach the homeowner about their car’s extended warranty.”
