Players only love you when they’re playing. So it was only right that Stevie Nicks played it the way she felt it.
Nicks who wrote and sang the No. 1 hit “Dreams” for Fleetwood Mac in 1977, joined the “Dreams” TikTok challenge on Tuesday. It might be hard to top her effort.
Sitting at her grand piano, Nicks, 72, laces up a pair of white roller skates next to a bottle of Ocean Spray cranberry juice while a record player plays “Dreams," the hit off Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours album. Nicks, who was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a solo artist in 2019, is singing along with her recorded voice in the short clip she posted on Twitter.
“Afternoon vibe. Lace 'em up!” Nicks wrote in her caption.
The video is the latest among the popular video challenge, which was originally started by Nathan Apodaca of Idaho Falls, Idaho. The video Apodaca posted in September, which features him skateboarding while drinking Ocean Spray, quickly went viral.
Last month, members of Fleetwood Mac showed their approval of the video when they shared it on Twitter, Rolling Stone reported. On their account, the band wrote, “We love this!”
And no wonder. The band, which was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998, has enjoyed a resurgence. “Dreams” re-entered the Billboard Hot 100 and was ranked No. 21 for the week ending Oct. 17.
Drummer Mick Fleetwood joined in the challenge with his own video.
Apodaca’s clip caught the attention of Ocean Spray, which surprised him with a new truck filled with bottles of the juice.
