ATLANTA — New filings in the federal case against Todd and Julie Chrisley show that the federal government has ordered both to surrender to prison in January.
The filings in federal court order Todd Chrisley to report to prison in Pensacola, Florida, by noon on Jan. 17. Julie Chrisley was ordered to report to prison in Marianna, Florida, by noon on the same date.
In November, a federal judge sentenced Todd Chrisley to 12 years in prison followed by three years of supervised release, and Julie Chrisley to seven years in prison followed by supervised release.
The couple, largely known for their reality television series “Chrisley Knows Best,” was found guilty in June of conspiring to defraud banks and the IRS out of millions of dollars.
FPC Pensacola, where Todd Chrisley has been ordered to report, is a medium-security facility, CNN reported. FCI Marianna, where Julie Chrisley was assigned, is described as a “medium security federal correctional institution with an adjacent minimum security satellite camp,” CNN reported.
Federal prosecutors had accused the Chrisleys of bragging on television about their spending on designer clothes, and said the pair asked family members to intervene in an attempt to obstruct justice. Prosecutors also accused the pair of using a film production company they controlled to hide income from the IRS.
The couple is appealing their convictions. In a statement to CNN the day after the couple’s sentencing, the family’s attorney said: “Yesterday was a difficult day for the Chrisley family. But Todd and Julie are people of faith, and that faith gives them strength as they appeal their convictions.”
