BURKE COUNTY, Ga. — A woman was arrested in Burke County, Georgia for allegedly drowning a 4-year-old during swim lessons.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigations arrested Lexie C. Tenhuisen, 66, on Jan. 17 at 8:30 p.m., Burke County Sheriff’s Office said, according to WSB-TV.
Tenhuisen is accused of drowning 4-year-old Israel Scott in June 2022. According to WSB-TV, the boy’s mother said that it was his second day of swimming lessons.
According to WSB-TV, it is unclear what led up to Scott’s drowning.
Tenhuisen was arrested and booked on a recommended charge of involuntary manslaughter, according to WSB-TV. She posted a $10,000 cash preset bond.
