SANTA CLAUS, Ind. — An Ohio woman died after she was found unresponsive Friday on a roller coaster at an Indiana theme park, officials said Saturday.
Dawn Jankovic, 47, of Brunswick, was pronounced dead late Friday, Dubois County Coroner Katie Schuck confirmed to WISH-TV.
Schuck said an autopsy has been completed, but the results are pending, according to WFIE.
Jankovic was found unresponsive after riding The Voyage roller coaster at Holiday World on Friday night, park officials announced in a Facebook post.
Holiday World medical personnel began rendering first aid within minutes and the woman was transported to an area hospital, WISH reported.
The Voyage ride gives riders a feeling of weightlessness, featuring three drops of more than 100 feet, WTHR reported. The ride also gives patrons a feeling of free-falling for about 24 seconds, the television station reported.
The Voyage was inspected and remained closed, according to WISH. The Facebook post said the ride “operated as it was intended to” and no issues were found.
