Jacksonville, FL — Spring has sprung in February across NE Fl./SE Ga.! The avg. temp. through Feb. 22 stood at 63.5 degrees making it the 12th warmest so far but going up the “ladder” quickly. Based on the First Alert Forecast, the month will likely end up very near - if not the - warmest on record for Jacksonville. Unfortunately the warm stretch of temps. (avg. is 69-70 degrees) is helping oak pollen to “take off”. Jax will also be very near the most 80-degree days ever recorded in February at 16 days. Warmest avg. Feb. temps. for Jacksonville going back to 1871:
1. 66.1 degrees in 2018, 1891 & 1887
4. 66.0 degrees in 1932
5. 65. 6 degrees in 1949
6. 65.2 degrees in 1883
7. 64.9 degrees in 1927
8. 64.5 degrees in 2019 & 1890
10. 64. 3 degrees in 1939
The warm inland temps. vs. cooler ocean temps. helped form a fogbow over Jax Beach Wed. (02/22) afternoon. The sea breeze pushed just a bit inland & the sun refracted/reflected off the tiny water droplets of the fog to form the “bow” as seen the First Alert Skycam Network:
