First Alert Weather Day: Tracking severe storms

Jacksonville, FL. — UPDATE 11:04 p.m. A tornado watch in Putnam County and Flagler County is in effect until 7 a.m.

UPDATE 10:04 p.m. The tornado watch for St. Johns, Putnam & Clay Counties has been cancelled. Expect periods of heavy rain and some lightning until 1 a.m.

UPDATE 7:29 p.m.: Watching a severe storm moving east @ 45 mph with gusts 60 mph & quarter sized hail! Will be moving into these neighborhoods! Head indoors.

UPDATE 6:10 p.m.: Severe Thunderstorm Warning for St. Johns County in FL until 6:30pm.

UPDATE 6:00 p.m.: Tornado warning in effect for Putnam and Flagler Counties.

First alert weather day will begin today.

Models still suggest that a line of storms between the hours of 7-11 p.m. will move from the Big Bend and track E/NE = move into Central & N FL.

There is a risk for supercells capable of gusty/damaging winds, hail and an isolated tornado.

Highest threat locations: St. Johns, Putnam & Clay Counties.

Will be on high alert this evening.
