Why did you become a journalist?
I became a journalist because from a young age, I have always been curious about the world and about people and their stories. In high school, my journalism teacher told me, I’d make a great journalist and should report the news on television, she was right!

Washington, D.C., Reno, Nevada & Portland, Oregon

The most memorable stories I’ve covered were the historic protests in Portland in 2020 followed by the historic wildfires of 2020 in Oregon.
What are you most proud of in your career in news?
I’m proud of the stories I’ve done that have given a voice to voiceless and have helped spark change for the better. I’m also proud to represent the Hispanic/Latinx community which is growing here in the PNW. What do you like to do when you’re not working?
When I’m not working, I’m usually running with my Dalmation, Truckee, rock climbing, mountaineering, hiking, snowboarding—anything outdoors really. I also love spending time with family and friends and curling up with a good book on a rainy day with my dog and cat.
