Jacksonville, FL. — Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office responded to a body in a retention pond on University of North Florida’s Campus around 6 p.m.
UPDATE: @JSOPIO says a 17 yo was pulled out of the retention pond after multiple calls from people who thought the saw a body in the water.

Upon arrival they found a 17 year old male in the retention pond.
At this time his death is being called as undetermined.
Officers did tell Action News Jax that the 17 year old was not a registered student at UNF.
Police say they do not suspect foul play and are working to notify his family.
Evidence that was found at the scene helped police identify the male.

No Threat to the Campus Community; Body Pulled from Retention Pond on Campus
Earlier this evening, the University Police Department and Jacksonville Sherriff’s Office investigated a report of a body floating in a retention pond next to Alumni Hall. Divers were able to recover the body of a deceased individual. There were no signs of bodily injury and there is no threat to the University community. Although we cannot release the identity at this time, we have verified that the person is not affiliated with UNF.
