Ponte Vedra, FL — UPDATE 8/9/2020: The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office arrested 20-year-old Caleb Richter Saturday for DUI with property damage/injury. Witnesses told the Sherriff’s Office that Richter was driving recklessly. According to the Sheriff’s Office, Richter’s car lost control and sideswiped another car before hitting a third car, which then sent Richter’s car into two bicyclists. The bicyclists are in stable condition and continue to get treatment for their injuries, according to a spokesperson for the Sheriff’s Office. The names of the bicyclists have not been released.
ORIGINAL STORY 8/8/2020: Two bicyclists have been by a car in the 2500 block of Palm Valley Road, according to the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office.

A spokesperson with St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office said they do have the driver and the driver is being questioned.
As of 8/8/20 at 11:20 A.M. the driver is not arrested. The crash is being investigated as reckless.
Some witnesses at the scene said they saw a red car weaving in and out of traffic hitting other vehicles in the process and ultimately hitting two bikers.
One woman whose car was hit was too shaken up to speak.
Her daughter came to pick her mother up and she said she watched as the two bikers were airlifted out of the street.
Both victims are being flown to the hospital. We’ll bring you more information as soon as we get it.
