CLAY COUNTY, Fla. — Update - July 14 - 4:23 pm: Florida Highway Patrol says that the vehicle involved was traveling southbound on State Road 23, just south of Argyle Boulevard. It ran off the road onto the median.
The vehicle then crossed over the northbound side of State Road 23 on the east shoulder. The car went airborne, clearing a fence, and traveling into a retention pond.
ORIGIANL STORY - A vehicle crashed into a retention pond on State Road 23 and Plantation Oaks Boulevard and one person is dead, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash happened around 9:30 p.m.
FHP says there are no roadblocks due to the crash but caution should be used in the area.
