Neptune Beach, FL — City Hall and public works buildings are closed in Neptune Beach after a COVID-19 outbreak among employees.
City Manager Stefen Wynn said in a news release that nearly every city department has been affected by the virus. However, police and utility services provided by the city will continue uninterrupted.
Mayor Elaine Brown said, “We are still providing essential services and police protection but under modified activities.” Action News Jax spoke to Mayor Brown who said she has not tested positive for COVID-19.
Utility payments are accepted online, over the phone, or they can be placed in at drop boxes located a the front doors of City Hall and the police department.

Mayor Brown said she has asked Governor DeSantis to once again allow virtual meetings since the process wasn’t extended into 2021. “The vaccines are going to take a while to distribute, and virtual meetings will add to protecting the public and our employees as we conduct city business.”
