DNA, jail calls among the latest evidence in Aiden Fucci case

St. Johns County, FL — The latest list of evidence the state plans to use in the trial of Aiden Fucci was released this week.

It includes Fucci’s jail calls and text messages, as well as DNA sample collections from Fucci’s family members.

Fucci, 15, is the only suspect in the murder of 13-year-old Tristyn Bailey.

Her body was found on in May in the Durbin Crossing neighborhood in St. Johns County. Investigators say she had been stabbed more than 100 times.

Other evidence includes surveillance video taken from neighboring homes and several Snapchat videos.

Fucci’s mother, Crystal Smith, also faces charges connected to Bailey’s murder.

Smith is accused of washing blood off her son’s jeans and is now charged with evidence tampering.

Fucci is being held in the Duval County Jail. Smith was released on bond.

Both are due in court on Feb. 2.
