JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Duval County Public Schools are taking precautionary measures at schools across the district as a way to keep a close eye on the potential threat of coronavirus in schools.
The school district is currently in the process of disinfecting and sanitizing all schools.
The plan is to use approved viral disinfectants from the Center for Biocide Chemistries.

DCPS said San Mateo Elementary School and Arlington Elementary School were disinfected on Wednesday. R.V. Elementary and Susie E. Tolbert Elementary are scheduled to be sanitized on Thursday. The cleaning occurs after school hours.
Superintendent Dr. Diana Greene outlined a 15-point update for parents at Tuesday night’s school board meeting. Greene said all schools will be sanitized and disinfected by the end of Spring Break, next week.
The district said it is prepared to deploy the sanitizing procedure immediately to any school or district facility potentially exposed to the coronavirus.
