Flooding causes road closures in Flagler County (Full list)

FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. — The Flagler County Sheriff's Office reports that the county has received 5 to 10 inches of rain in the past 24 hours, with some areas getting 11 inches.

Fifteen buildings have sustained minor damage due to flooding. FCSO has also received reports of downed trees and abandoned vehicles.

Western Flagler County and the city of Palm Coast were affected the most, leading to road closures and hazards in some areas.

Road Closures: 
Daytona North: Forest Park-Mahogany to Clove 
Flagler County: Hargrove Grade-Otis Stone to Hargrove at the rail road tracks. Otis Stone Hunter from US Highway 1 to Main Street. 
Palm Coast: Bird of Paradise and all streets in that vicinity. 

In addition, there are a number of other roads that are open but have experienced excessive water. These road hazards include: 

Daytona North: Walnut, Candleberry, Elder, Rosewood, Hickory and Honeytree – all south of Mahogany (12-18 inches of water) 
Daytona North: Clove and Grove (12-18 inches of water) 
Flagler Beach: A1A from State Road 100 to North 12th and from State Road 100 to South 17th (encroaching travel lane) 
Flagler County: County Road 90 – west of County Road 305 (encroaching travel lane) 
Flagler County: Hickory and Fir – at Walnut (washout) 
Palm Coast: U.S. Highway 1 at Matanzas Woods Boulevard (encroaching travel lane) 
Palm Coast: Hargrove Grade at Industry Drive (encroaching travel lane) 
Palm Coast: Laramie, Matanzas to Belle Terre (water over road) 
Palm Coast: Burroughs Drive, Belle Terre to Bird of Paradise (water over road) 
Palm Coast: Butternut, Weidner (at Weiss), and Fellow Place (water over road on all three) 
Palm Coast: Entrance to Princess Place (water over road) Hammock: Marineland Acres (water over road) 

Additionally, the FHP is urging caution at U.S. 1 northbound and southbound at Faver Dykes Road in southern St. Johns County due to standing water in several places.

The city of Palm Coast has free sandbags and a sand station available at the Public Works yard, located at 1 Wellfield Grade. Sand is also available at Seminole Woods Park, Indian Trails Sports Complex and Holland Park.
