JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Florida Department of Education released Florida Standards Assesment scores for 2019.

Duval County third through twlefth grade students' geometry scores went up five percent from 2018 through 2019. Sixth through twelfth graders also improved biology scores by four percent.
Some subjects took more of a hit this year, however.
Fourth through twelfth grade civics scores decreased fifteen percent from 2018 to 2019 and fifth grade science scores went down seven percent.
Here's the full list of Duval's FSA score changes:
FSA scores that decreased from 2018 to 2019:
- Grades 4-12 civics decreased 15%, from 84% in 2018 to 69% in 2019.
- Grade 5 science decreased 7%, from 56% in 2018 to 49% in 2019.
- Grades 9-12 algebra 1 decreased 6%, from 44% in 2018 to 38% in 2019.
- Grades 3-8 geometry decreased 3%, from 97% in 2018 to 94% in 2019.
- Grades 4-12 algebra 1 decreased 3%, from 61% in 2018 to 58% in 2019.
- Grades 4-8 algebra 1 decreased 2%, from 84% in 2018 to 82% in 2019.
- Grades 9-10 english language arts decreased 1%, from 49% in 2018 to 48% in 2019.
FSA scores that improved from 2018 to 2019:
- Grades 3-12 geometry increased 5%, from 57% in 2018 to 62% in 2019.
- Grades 9-12 geometry increased 5%, from 53% in 2018 to 58% in 2019.
- Grade 6-12 biology increased 4%, from 64% in 2018 to 68% in 2019.
- Grades 7-12 U.S. history increased 4%, from 64% in 2018 to 68% in 2019.
- Grades 3-10 english language arts increased 1%, from 48% in 2018 to 49% in 2019.
- Grades 3-5 english language arts increased 1%, from 50% in 2018 to 51% in 2019.
- Grades 6-8 english language arts increased 1%, from 45% in 2018 to 46% in 2019.
- Grades 3-8 all mathematics increased 1%, from 56% in 2018 to 57% in 2019.
