Man dead in shooting involving Florida Highway Patrol trooper at Busy Bee gas station in Live Oak

LIVE OAK, Fla. — A man was killed in a shooting involving a Florida Highway Patrol trooper at the Busy Bee gas station and travel center on U.S. 129 near Interstate 10 on Tuesday night.

FHP said the shooting happened just before 5:30 p.m.

The trooper was not injured and “has been placed on non-disciplinary administrative leave pursuant to FHP policy,” according to a release from FHP.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement will be investigating the shooting.

FHP is not releasing any information at this time, as the investigation is still active.
