Splash Mountain, located in Frontierland in Magic Kingdom, will officially close to the public at the end of the day Sunday, meaning guests only have a few days left to experience the attraction in its current form.

Beginning Monday, Splash Mountain will undergo a transformation and reopen in 2024 as Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, inspired by the 2009 animated film “The Princess and the Frog.”

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will take riders on a journey inspired by the story and characters from the film, and picks up where the story left off, Disney said.

Splash Mountain opened in October 1992 and is inspired by the controversial 1946 Disney film “Song of the South.” The log flume features 100 audio-animatronics, three dips and the iconic five-story plunge.

A petition to change the ride’s them to Princess and the Frog circulated online, garnering more than 20,000 signatures.
