NASHVILLE, Tn. — Charges for Randy Austin have been upgraded from attempted criminal homicide to felony criminal homicide in connection with the shooting of his wife in a Nashville hotel room last week, according to the Davidson County Sheriff's Office.

Glynn County sheriff's Deputy, Randy Austin is charged with attempted criminal homicide in connection with the critical shooting of his wife in a Nashville hotel room Thursday night, according to Nashville police.
According to a press release, Austin is being held on a $500,000 bond.
His wife remains in critical condition with multiple gunshot wounds to her arm and head.

Austin told detectives the shooting occurred when he and his wife came back to their room after going out downtown, which according to police, including drinking.
Austin told police he placed his pistol on the nightstand, walked away and then heard gunshots. Austin claimed he did not shoot his wife, nor did she shoot herself.
