After further investigation, Clay County Sheriff’s Office and St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office believe that this incident in Clay County is related to a welfare check that occurred earlier today in St. Johns County.
The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office released this statement, “Around 8:30am today, we received a call from the Clay County Sheriff’s Office to do a welfare check on a female in the northwest part of our county. Based on the information received, we sent deputies to do the check and made entry into the home where we found a deceased female. We believe this to be a domestic violence incident and related to the active situation in Clay County. Our investigation is underway. We will release further details at the appropriate time.”
