Watch: Man trips, shoots himself, leaves ID behind after robbing Jacksonville store at gunpoint

Jacksonville, FL. — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office announced on Tuesday the arrest of Brian Cohen for armed robbery.

He entered a business located on St. Augustine Road.

Authorities say he selected multiple items for purchase, and when he went to go checkout he pulled a gun on the clerk.

He proceeded to tell the clerk to get to the ground and stay there.

Cohen tired to steal more items and he fled the store.

As he was leaving he tripped and proceeded to shoot himself in the leg.

Once JSO arrived to the store, they retrieved a shell casing and Cohen’s ID.

Later JSO found Cohen at a hospital due to his gunshot wound.

JSO investigators believe he robbed the store to pay for a drug debt.
