ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — A crash in St. Augustine injured multiple people and killed an 18-year-old.
St. Johns County Fire Rescue responded just after 8 p.m. to a two-vehicle crash on SR 16 and Murabella Parkway.
The Florida Highway Patrol said the driver of a 2005 Ford Focus, Meghan Theobald, 18, of St. Augustine, was heading east on SR 16 and attempted to make a left turn on Murabella Parkway. Theobald made the turn and was hit on the right side by a 2012 Nissan Frontier, troopers said.
Theobald was taken to Baptist South with serious injuries. Two passengers, both 18 and from St. Augustine, were taken to UF Health Jacksonville with serious injuries and are in critical condition. A third passenger, 18-year-old Griffin Moody of Ponte Vedra Beach, died at the scene.
The driver of the Frontier, 20-year-old Weston Power of St. Augustine, and his 19-year-old passenger, also of St. Augustine, were taken to Flagler Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
FHP is continuing to investigate.
