JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — One man is dead and another suffered life threatening-injuries in a shooting Friday night on Jacksonville’s Northside, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO).
Police say just after 10 p.m., they responded to Ella Street in reference to shooting where a man was found lying in the middle of the street. The had been shot multiple times and was pronounced dead a short time later at UF Health, JSO said.
Another victim, officers learned, was self-transported to the same hospital where they underwent emergency surgery for their injuries.
Witnesses told police a dark colored sedan with at least two suspects inside exited the car and began shooting. The suspects then drove off in an unknown direction.
