Teen charged with bringing gun to First Coast High First Coast High School

JACKSOVNILLE, Fla. — A teenage girl was arrested Tuesday after police say she was found with a handgun at First Coast High School.

The 14-year-old was taken into custody the same day that six teenagers were shot at while driving in a car near the school. Police said one of the teenagers, described as between 17 and 18 years old, was found dead at the scene. Four of the teens were taken to a hospital and another remained at the scene to speak with police.

The young suspect is not charged in the fatal shooting. According to jail records, the teen is charged with possession of a weapon on school property.

A police report states the teen was taken into custody after another student handed a police officer a note with information on it.

Action News Jax is not naming the 14-year-old at this time.
